I Look forward to it mate.

We'll probably find more and more of us on each train. That last one to Stone will probably be full of us!

I got a box with some kit in it today and the email telling me I'm FVR.

What is the FVR role like for anyone that's currently doing it?

FVR requires the uplift and improvement to the telephone network. Team members will be working on the copper network, above and below ground.

Team members may find themselves on small jobs (20 pair cable change over) or larger tasks (cabinet uplifts.)

Working safely outdoors. Team members will work in a variety of different locations including the highway

They will find themselves performing task such as....
1. Cabling - using the hand rod technique.
2. Cable Changeover - No break in service,
3. Cabinet uplifts,
4. Joint remakes - Overhead and underground
5. Block and tail - replacing the black box on top of the pole (Distribution point) and the wire.

Fault volume reduction, basically upgrading the network so we have less faults out there. Good job i have heard. Not much interaction with customers though.

Apparently also slightly faster track for the UG training that comes with a £3000 a year extra benefit so I have heard.
