In reply to a post by Jbs89:
Just received an email inviting me to an assessment centre in 2 weeks time. Delighted as was getting worried waiting over the Xmas break. Time to get studying. Will be looking back through all the forums for anything I've missed.

You think they will still be doing the wiring of the plug test? Been a while so will have a few goes of that over the weekend.

I did my assessment just before Christmas and we had a different practical test involving wiring two different types of phone socket and joining two cables together. They give a good demo first and you had a completed example to work from so whilst a lot more wires than a 3 pin plug it was not too tricky as long as you pay attention to the demo.

Good luck with your assessment centre.

Thanks. I need to try and be a little creative with my answers as my last one I got rejected on the back of a couple of answers.

I've just been offered an assessment centre in Glasgow in a couple of weeks.

What were the interview questions you had like at your last assessment?

Going to have to start reading back through this thread now.

hi there

i had an email today saying I've passed the assessment centre in Cardiff on Tuesday 09/01, super chuffed but my heart sank a little when i saw that it says...

'Unfortunately at the moment there are a limited number of positions in your available in your area an they have gone to other candidates, so for the moment we are unable to offer you a position.
However the business is still reviewing trainee open reach positions so we may see some changes and we will be in touch if we can find an available role for you.
Thanks for your understanding and congratulations again!'

has anyone else had this or similar? does it mean that i basically passed but there no guarantee of a job at all, or is it just a bit of a wait?
any help will be much appreciated! had my heart set on openreach and I'm so confused as I've passed but no job lol!

Something along the lines of:
Why do you want to work at Open reach.
How do you deal with change.
I think strengths and weaknesses.

The questions are simple stuff but obviously I got it wrong last time.

Or maybe they just had enough people on the day.

One of my two interviews the two guys doing it neither of them wrote down anything I said which I found rather odd. I have never had an interview where no one writes down anything,
