Hi Mate,

Well done on passing assessment centre, sucks about not having any roles atm! Hopefully some come up soon. What area did you apply for?
I was in Shields on 17th for the morning session.
Got an email to say i'd passed an there was a role for me, just have to wait for start date.

This all sounded amazing until I read this forum and realised some people had been waiting since last June for a start date!

fingers crossed thats not the case, I am desperate to start/hand my notice in!

From what I gather, they start quite a big group at one time down in Yarnfield, so they are probably waiting until the first month of assessments are done then everyone goes down together for that first week. I'd guess before before the end of March at the latest? Curious to hear if anyone has a start date yet!

I think the process is much quicker now. Last year was a slow one with all the changes Openreach were making, so hang tight!

Alright mate,

In regards to start dates, itís as soon as they have a place for you, so it could be anytime. As with last year they start groups every week in Yarnfield and will do for the rest of the year up until around the start on November, however this year because they are taking on so many engineers they have started the intakes as early as possible as normally they donít start until around March.

As far as Iím aware the first group of this years intake started at Yarnfield in 8th January.

Yeah, I read someone was starting on the 8th. I imagine the first few weeks are pretty full from the successful guys the end of last year, but I bet things get moving pretty fast soon.

Did you get the impression they were likely to get everyone on training? Felt like that they way they were speaking about 'when, not if you pass'.

Yeah definitely, and the way they mentioned you're 99% of the way there etc. Probably just being positive, but they are taking on thousands of people, so surely if you do above average you're in with a great shot? That's what I'm hoping anyway haha.

Hard to tell if the assessors think you done as well or as badly as you think you did yourself though. Just really want to know either way tomorrow or Friday if possible.

Fingers crossed for you mate, I was the same I thought it went well but you never know.
I know they were mainly interested in the customer service side and how you acted on the day i.e striking conversation with people and interviewers.
Need to know your not going to be awkward when your in someones house or within the team, the rest of it they can train you at.
