Wouldnt worry about it, seems to just be a gage on your current skill level and if you are trainable. Interviews will probably be the key bit, as they are managers they are assessing if you can fit in the team and are generally switched on and not a space cadet who would be a danger. Fingers crossed for you bud.

In reply to a post by Jem8472:
35 mins to do the test.

A guy that does the job but for Kelly communication did it in about 10 mins. It took me about 20 or 25 mins. Just got to make sure to double check everything.

I am not sure if it is a cut and dry pass fail test. Or if they are looking to see if you can safely use tools and follow the example ever if you don't get it 100%.

Yeah I made sure to take my time (I think I did it in just under 30 mins), and also made it painfully obvious that I was double checking my work to make sure it was correct. We had one guy who flew through it in 10 mins, but he had to be told to put his safety glasses on at the start, so I doubt he made it through.

35 mins is loads of time so people can just relax and work away at it. It's honestly easier than wiring a plug; I always find that more fiddly.

Thats the way I did too. Just made it look stupidly obvious that I was double checking my work afterwards. Also made sure to put any tools i wasnt using back in the pouch until i needed them again so my work space was tidy. Noticed a few people on my assessment had the tools spread all over the table and it just looked a mess.

Does anyone remember if there was a space for your notice period on the paperwork they give you at the assessment day? I don't remember seeing anything.

I've also had another email from Openreach recruitment about still on the 'radar' for an assessment centre. I applied last February (2017) and have passed the situational strengths and video interview. For more or less the whole of 2017 they kept emailing me every couple of weeks with basically the same copy and paste job lol. Last email I got, before today's, was 12 January - seems they're spacing it out a bit more this time and leaving it longer between the mails. I don't have a job and it's starting to get to the point where I really need this to work out and things to start happening. Fingers crossed I get the shout soon. Area: Ayrshire, Glasgow and Western Scotland.

When I had my assessment the guy that was running it said that since December they have had about 12,000 applications for 2500 jobs. That's an amazing amount of applications.
