They will put u where u are needed and can be up to an hour of your house you are expected to travel,if u park at home though, its just a location more than anything and you dont need to go,they will send you jobs within an hour of the exchange sometimes u will be near home sometimes not,if u are calomi theres more chance of being near home as bigger scope of work,im FVR and at the minute all the local work to me is dried up so im doing an hour our/half each way most days to first job

I recollect reading that OR has about 21,000 vehicles, so close to one for one.

-----------

If you assume an employment period of 23 years, then at least 1,000 new staff to be recruited and trained every year - so to cope with a sudden expansion as the implementation of Broadband implies, probably 2,000 nearer the mark.

Then the instructors diverted away from the normal work-force, logistics of training locations, tools, vans, special clothing etc - a significant cost ion total.

They are obsessed with telling people about holidays they wont let u have anything off in th first 12 weeks whatever ur excuse they cant have you missing anything,a lot of people had hols that would have been in first 12 weeks so were given later start dates. If you want anything between 3 and 6 months of start date make sure u get it down on system at yarnfield, its one thing they really are very strict on which is why its brought up at assesment before you even get offered job!

Ok. The HR woman said no holiday in the first 8 weeks so mine should be ok but I have got insurance in case I have to cancel it. She did say I would have to speak to a manager.

According the website OR has more than 30,000 people working for it. I imagine that figure has grown the past year a good deal and will be same again this year. Probably makes it impossible to get promoted now haha.
