What sort of contract are you on to need to give 11 weeks notice? That's mad. 4 weeks is normal.

A week for every year I have been employed apparently.

Never actually seen a contract nevermind signed one so they can stick 11 weeks lol

Hopefully be able to negotiate to around 6 weeks which seems about right.

If you dont owe any holidays, you can just jack anyway, they have to pay any holidays owed by law and ur not due any redundancy as leaving so just leave when u want,BT wont care mate, they wouldnt even know if u never served any notice, how i see things is companys are quick to get rid whoever u are nowadays so works both ways

It can be i applied in june 2016,and got start in may 2017,but i had to give it up so didnt start till sept 2017,it all depends how many apprentices they need in an hours radius of each exchange, last year pretty much most people got starts straight away in London as they needed a massive recruitment drive there, its luck of the draw really

Yeah I understand that mate.

The problem I have though is losing out on my week in hand if I jack, then potentially not getting paid for another month or so when I start at OR.

5 weeks without any income wouldnt do my bank balance any good with bills to pay :/
