Cheers... seen a video online and it looks fairly straightforward. I am only slightly worried about the skills test. Interviews should be fine, I have IOSH so I hope that stands well for me re Health and Safety. English test will be fine, can’t for the life of me mind when I last used fractions though.

Mine is the 27th of March. I live in the Scottish Borders, have been told by someone who works as a engineer, that as it is such a large area they need people there. Unsure if that is a factor though.

not been on years but can pretty much do all that and now doing track and locate,my point was they are doing a 2 week course with 2 weeks buddying and then becoming UG “trained” with a £3750 pay rise, the “we” was a generalisation of network/FVR guys who do UG permanent.

how understanding are OR in regards to notice that I have and how long until I can start?

Im serving in the military at the moment, handed notice in in January which is 12 months

however, with leave outstanding and resettlement leave etc I will be gone and ready to work in 6 months time, around October

So potentially 6 months notice

I have my assessment centre next week

I hear a lot of ex forces lads join OR so hopefully I'm not the first in this situation

Cheers!

People are being given start dates from the summer and September onwards now anyway as certain patches are filling up, so I'm sure it will be no problem at all.

Your unit might let you away early if you have a confirmed job to go to. Would be best speaking to your RCMO about it. Last thing I heard was that they only allow for teachers or emergency services but worth a go.

BT will just slot you in when you are available. Folks have holidays etc and they just move the start date accordingly.

Do we have to take a drug and alcohol test at the assessment day? Got my brothers wedding the day before my assessment day and don’t want to get caught out having a few beers the night before!!
