how understanding are OR in regards to notice that I have and how long until I can start?

Im serving in the military at the moment, handed notice in in January which is 12 months

however, with leave outstanding and resettlement leave etc I will be gone and ready to work in 6 months time, around October

So potentially 6 months notice

I have my assessment centre next week

I hear a lot of ex forces lads join OR so hopefully I'm not the first in this situation

Cheers!

Not the first smile:):):)smile the company is pratically run by ex military as they are deemed good managers:):):)but just note it down at assesment, theres a point where this is asked,if u r suitable they will wait.

Your unit might let you away early if you have a confirmed job to go to. Would be best speaking to your RCMO about it. Last thing I heard was that they only allow for teachers or emergency services but worth a go.

BT will just slot you in when you are available. Folks have holidays etc and they just move the start date accordingly.

CO wont let people go unless its public services

looking like my last day in unit will be around 5th October

Time for the next long thread

[re: mckeo5514] [link to this post]

An overdue visit to close down the massively long thread...as always please carry on in a new thread, and if I cut anyone off in mid-discussion just include a link back to the post you are replying to for context.

HINT: Its easier for everyone if people can start their own threads, suggested options

1. Questions before signing up
2. Questions on training centres after signing up
3. Other topics you can think of relevant to the forum section
