usb help

[link to this post]

I have just copied a debian .img file to a usb stick and it runs ok..
I then added a second partition to the stick for persist so as to save any changes
I might make...Can anyone tell me how I get the .img file to see the persist
partition when I boot the system ?

That's the first I've heard of that feature. Have you tried following http://wiki.debian.org/DebianLive/Howto/Custom_Install

have a look at this thread.

http://forum.elivecd.org/read.php?4,2851,5247

it might give you pointers...

otherwise you might want to try this:

Install usb-creator-gtk (Startup Disk Creator)
Run it with a empty USB Stick and the Debian ISO image file,

Think that will let you add a persistence file to the Live USB install
