wow, that reminds me so much of pine smile
I started using Pine in about 1994 and now use Alpine as my email client smile

At least Pine is not Elm wink

Why would you use something like Pine/alpine? I had a muck around with it last night, and could not get it working, been years since I used pine and that was on a Amiga.

Not being funny but we have come a long way since the old commend line, while I know that using the command line is required for some things and also easier, you can't say that getting and sending your email via alpine is easier than say claws?

the problem these days as well is that emails are not just text.

because I run my own mail servers and only access email via SSH.

Ah, I see, any advantage in running your own mail servers?

Yes. Enhanced security (I run it behind an enterprise grade hardware firewall), absolute control over server-level spam rejection and because it's useful professionally to have systems to develop ideas on and keep myself up to date.
