No need, no interest. Steam games work just fine on Windows and I have plenty of Linux installations.

A guaranteed fail IMO.

And I agree - see no point in it. I have admit, I donít play games on the internet. Surely, thatís not what it's for!

It is pretty pointless - and the hardware is rather expensive...

is the point not that Valve see the direction Windows is taking as a problem ?

Perhaps Microsoft see the direction that Valve is taking as a problem? wink

Valve are not the only games publisher for PCs. I can see no logical reason to restrict myself to a console that plays games from only one publisher when an equivalent PC will play those and loads of other games. (And it can be used as a general purpose computer.) If the Steam consoles were going to be appreicably cheaper than a PC then there might be a reason, but the opposite looks to be the case - pay more for a console that does less than a PC.

You could try and install it next to your current system. The main issue is how many games are available for the Linux version of Steam. To get round that problem, I run the Windows version of Steam under Wine.

It seems to be pretty hard to do at the moment - I dont have a machine free unfortunately either.

If/when they do actually release it, hopefully they'll add a proper installation system of some sort.
