MBP To Send Stream..?

[link to this post]

Hi folks. wink

Is it possible to make my MacBook Pro send out a video/movie [on iTunes] via a Wi-fi signal that will be picked up by a Media Centre device, then hopefully onto the TV (via DVI)?

All help gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

Steven.

I assume you mean with no additional kit?!?!

If not, then the EyeTV Netstream Sat, when plugged into a router will beam video to all networked devices (inc. iPhone/iPads)... Not sure if it works with video outside EyeTV?

Is that close to what you want?

It may seem obvious, but have you looked at the Apple TV box? The second version is really small and gives you a Internet portal on your TV as a bonus. Dabs do them for well under £100.

Output is HDMI but you can get HDMI to DVI leads. Audio out would have to be on the optical link.

Nearly, nonymouse - am getting >this< posted out for Saturday, and I look forward to seeing my iTunes movies on the 37" TFT, instead of my 24" monitor. Yup.
Will be able to relax BIG time with it. Be able to watch BD's while chilling out. Hoping for BBC iPlayer, and YouTube on it too.

Will also take USB leads / dongles etc, and my 64GB Mmory Stick.

Just want it to play my iTunes movies on my Telly.

Thanks for that one. Never use torrents TBTH. It's all kept safe, secure & untouched - Shall be keeping it that way.

Look forward to getting it delivered. It's just a BD Player. With bits in it.

Thanks for that.

That also is sound advice - Very many thanks for the link [for the Mac], and the name of the Windows s/w.

Further details of the Blu-ray player is here. Can't wait to give it a go. Pity that my TV isn't a 3D one. An LED one would be smashing too. Wallet says "No". lol.

That Blu-ray has a USB slot on the front, so could just plug in a movie that I put on a memory stick.

Thanks to everyone for the ideas/links and feedback.

Cheers Folks! wink
