Hide My IP Address

[link to this post]

http://www.hidemyass.com/proxy/
"Hide your IP address
Your IP address is your 'online fingerprint'. Use our proxy to hide your true online identity and hide behind one of our anonymous IP's. You can also select which specific IP address and server you wish to hide behind, by clicking the 'advanced options' link."

For one of the technical discussion Forums I would like to use, I would prefer to join but remain with my computer not identified by the administrators. Nothing dubious but just a desire to avoid being pestered.
And nothing involving porn etc.

The web site mentioned above may be suitable.
Does anyone have experience of this in a Mac environment?
Or is there a better way?

No, but web-based stuff should work the same on any platform.

You could try Netshade or Tunnelbear for non-webby solutions that are Mac native.

I used it for a few days, then found it did not suit my purpose, as it could only be used on a computer, not with my media streaming devices, so used another that could, i now use a firefox add on called stealth, on the mac and don't bother with the media streamers.
