There's a very comprehensive review of it on Ars Technica: http://arstechnica.com/apple/2013/10/os-x-10-9/

It seems like an obvious upgrade, but I'll do an image of my current setup first. Only thing that I'm not sure of is where OS X Server fits in the picture; that could be a problem.

Edit: Latest I can find out is that 10.8 Server won't run on 10.9 Client. Upgade will be a purchase item, not free. Looks like I won't be upgrading 'till I can find out more. But I may upgrade the clone on an external drive to test things.

Thanks, I'll read that properly when I've got a bit more time tongue

At a quick scan it looks like an update worth having, it'll be interesting to see the reactions from ordinary users.

Mavericks Server only went GM a day or two ago (rather annoyingly Apple has taken to calling final RCs GMs). It will be along soon, I suspect.

Only 5.29Gb but took forever to download (over BT Infinity) during the thunderstorm (I like to live dangerously!!)

Then installing took forever too as it seemed to be stuck on 5 mins for 10... Then on reboot it needed another 15 mins to finish the installation, again saying it had less than a minute to go for another 10...

Anyway, it's up and asking for passwords... So I'm going to have a play, I doubt I'll notice much difference.

One of the first things I found when I did a serious-sized upgrade (from Tiger iirc) was that Apple's "Time remaining" estimates need to be taken with a shipload of salt- it'll finish when it finishes crazy

I too downloaded it during a thunderstorm. Can't see much different myself as yet.

I suspect downloading on the first day has a material impact on download times!
