Handbrake update compromised

One of the file hosting mirrors for the popular file conversion app was compromised with malware inserted into the update. If you have recently downloaded or updated this app check out this web page.

Thanks for that... I updated mine in the affected timespan so a few worrying moments crazy

But the file isn't shown as coming from the affected server, no Activity_agent process and the dmg checksums don't match the "infected" ones so I seem to be in the clear.

Yes I haven't used it for a while and was still on 1.0.3.
These file hosters will have to up their game in future.

Bizarre though it may seem, I do actually run commercial paid antivirus (Bitdefender) on my Macs.

It's not a bad idea for all Mac owners to run some form of protection - Avira and Sophos are good free alternatives if paying's an issue.
