wBC ADSL Trail Invitation

[link to this post]

We are very pleased to be part of the WBC 21CN service Trial. The trial will take place on the following exchanges in the Birmingham area:

Stechford
Halesowen
Sheldon
Wood Gate
Castle Bromwich
Chelmsley Wood
Burntwood
Edgbaston
Victoria
Central

There is a limit of 250 trialists across all participating ISPs and we are keen to have as large an allocation as possible. BT has given us a deadline of 19 October 2007 to get the trialist details to them.

wBC is the new platform taking over from the existing IPStream platform offering ADSL2+ speeds of upto 24mbps. If you are connected to one of these exchanges please email us broadband @ merula.net or call us and we will check that you can take part and provide any details we can.

Please note that we cannot guarantee that anyone who contacts us will be accepted on the tral due to the limits placed on this by BT.

Any questions please do let us know

Have you noticed that SamKnows link to this post claiming it has been made by an EntaNet reseller (see the news item about 21CN trials)?
(edit - removed some unnecessary things)

Such is the fun of it

Although they are partly right -- the wBC trial is through an arrangement with EntaNet. However as people here know all our client ADSL lines belong to us and we have our own centrals -- and nothing there is planned to be changing.

We just have an arrangement with Entanet for trailing wBC network rather than setting up a full network of interneconnects with BT at this early stage.

Apologies for the error - my fault entirely (I put two very similar pieces of information together and came up with an incorrect conclusion).

I'm curious to hear that you got "451 Mailbox busy" when trying to email me - I certainly do want to know about any issues; please don't assume otherwise! If you could forward me a copy of the error to samcrawford@gmail.com it'd be much appreciated. I've just had a new anti-spam system put in place, so I'd certainly like to know if it's rejecting valid emails.

Thanks again and apologies for the slip-up.

Sam

I deleted that bit about 451 errors, because the email must have got to you eventually (as you replied to it!)
