Android GPS and SatNav

[link to this post]

I thought I would share my recent discoveries with my Galaxy Tab P1000 wink

Having rooted the P1000 and then deleted lots of unwanted apps, I suddenly found that I had rendered the Tab useless frown

One of the apps I was now denied was a paid for, at great expense, Copilot Live 8 so I emailed ALK and asked them to deactivate it so I could transfer it to my new Tab the P3110. This they did but as I reinstalled it, an upgrade called Copilot GPS appeared. I installed this with the maps I had paid for in CPL8 and it is much better, faster with GPS lock. Apparently you can now delete CPL8.

However! I then discovered that there is a new, free satnav app called Navfree and it is excellent!

Hope you find that info useful.

I might add that thanks to Odin and his friends, my P1000 is back in service smile

Andrew

There is also Waze - also free, with crowd sourced traffic updates.

I looked at that one but the reviews weren't great. Anyway, I get enough gas as it is blush

Haha!! I've not used it in ages, as I got TomTom before it was out - still, for the price always worth a try smile
