com.vkt.appkeeper

Does anyone know anything about this Android app. It's not a virus (according to Android virus scanners), but I cant seem to find anything about it. The problem with it is that it will crash when connecting to a new Wifi connection.

I had thought it was installed by free BT Wifi, but after testing today, it turns out it wasn't the case, and I have installed all apps that might have installed it

All I can say is it isn't on my Google Nexus so presumably comes from something you have installed - but that could be needle in haystack territory.

Indeed - that was my reply. I had hoped he would reply so we could compare apps...

If you want you can PM me a list of some of the apps you have installed and I can put them on my nexus and see which one adds that item?

It might be easier just to uninstall it and see what the consequences are.

I've got a new tablet (same make and model) to try and replicate it, but so far to no avail. Unfortunately, removing some stuff from my Play list means I'm missing some apps, and I cant remember what they were - one of which was a FPS.

So far I haven't had any "luck". I do know Tapped Out, Hungry Shark, Asphalt 8 and the plethora of standard Google stuff isn't the cause.

I dont buy any stuff from Google Play, which fortunately rules out a lot of stuff...

I have had a look at the certification files, and unfortunately it uses the android@android.com email address.

I think it was installed with a downloaded app, which was sequentially deleted.

The appkeeper installs a service (which crashes when a new Wifi connection is made). There is no problem when the app is stopped or uninstalled.

It installs itself in /UserExperience - which also has calculator.app as well :/
