Android bug

It can compromise Android phones without the user doing anything.

Link.

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.

Trouble is it takes so long for the networks to OK the update and release it. I still dont think they have released the Samsung keyboard exploit despite it being fixed ages ago by Samsung/Google

Androids biggest problem is the network approval. Apple realised this was the same problem Nokia had with Symbian so bypassed them for iOS. The networks aren't happy but they need the customers!!

Google should have been able to sort this by now.

Is it not possible to offer system updates/bug fixes via Google Play?

Google, Samsung etc should have never given them the choice! They just weren't brave enough. Microsoft/Nokia weren't either.

Why do WiFi only Android tablets still take forever to be updated as well? No network there.
(carrier is the US word, we tend to use network in the UK)
