Data allowance/usage calculations

Hi all

I've just recieved my 3 network dongle and Mifi dongle and was testing the download speeds when I noticed something.

I dl'd a short video clip onto my laptop and the size was logged as 52.2mb. I checked my data allowance meter and it calculated it to have used almost 59mb.

Is this normal?

There are overheads involved in any file transfer so the usage will always be more than the file size.
