3 in place of fixed broadband?

[link to this post]

Hi does anyone know if its possible or has experience using the one plan for £25 a month then use the sim in a usb modem (or router that has 3g support) - this would then be equal to a fixed line unlimited but mobile broadband right?

Would the speed be normal HSPA or HSPA+

I'm not sure if I'd get it instead of my fixed connection, but below is my home broadband vs three

Be there:

Three UK 3G:

The 3G connection is actually faster than my fixed broadband, and it's incredibly smooth for gaming on. I get around 30ish ping in-game, which is higher than the fixed broadband, but it's perfectly adequate.

I will be forced to do the 3 mobile broadband thing in a couple of months when we move into the middle of nowhere. ADSL at 2MB/sec or HSPA at 10MB/sec?
Seems like no choice as bonded is too expensive. Hopefully 3 will go 4G in next 12 months so will be able to get even faster connection.

Hello

Ye indeed I am on it right now typing this!

For me it's OK but it can be slow on a Sunday afternoon due to traffic sense on my cell but I deal with it. I am on the one plan with a S3 for £31 a month - very happy with it

3 are buying some of T-mobiles spectrum and they will have 4G at some point, Right now the only phone that would work if they bought it out tomorrow on 3 would be the Iphone5

(I Netflix all day long and have used 165GB so far this month) I get around 7mbps all the time on this connection but that's fine for me. I just have the phone in a desktop charger all the time when I am using it at home.

Yes but 3 don't currently sell the S3 I9305.. They only sell the i9300 which is HPSA+ only.

We aren't on about EE.

£20 for the phone and then £56 a month? for a phone which costs EE £109 to buy and 8GB of data?

Best of luck there. ill stick with what I have it's vastly superior..

Only a mug would go for that deal....

Oh dear - do you even have any knowledge of such service/service plan?

Firstly my "month" runs from the 15th of October till 15th of November - and secondly

Three won't cut anyone off the one plan is the ONLY plan where you can do this and they have said the max you can go up to is 1000GB a month.

Please spend a minute to educate yourself

And when they say "(and we would be worried if you were!!!" I believe you'll find they mean it as in " you'd have no life and we would pity you" not " holy [censored] our 1Gbps links per cell site can't take it"

I know we're not on about EE but if Three use the 1800Mhz band they are buying from the T-Mobile+Orange merger then the same phones will work. Yes if there are different models with different cellular chipsets this makes it all very confusing.

Well I know someone who has an I9305 on EE on business and he wishes he didn't bother.

To me that says it all.
