T-mobile broadban question

[link to this post]

A small question. With t-mobile pay as you go broadband, is it really unlimited with the £15 top up? I know they throttle after the 1GB limit.

I am not sure but I would suggest looking online for a 12 month sim. I got one from ebay for £19,99 and it lasted the whole 12 months. I did about 4GB a month on it and all I had to do was top it up with £5 to activate it so £24,99 for a year.

I used it in my Ipad it never got throttled. On the website it was put through as mobile web under code 1000 which I assume is their code for this type of Sim.

Prices online seem to be £24,99 for 6 months now but that's still a bargain!

Have you got a link to these SIMs?

There are a few on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/iPAD-T-MOBILE-MICRO-SIM-IN...

The 500MB is for downloading however i've always found once you've hit this limit your only throttled between 4-12pm daily and the rest of the time you can download/stream as normal and browsing is not affected at any time.

Still a good deal.

You can get a PAYG SIM from T-Mobile and with some credit buy 6 months worth of Internet for £20 with their PAYG Booster packs.

I believe the allowance is for 500MB/month for downloading but "web browsing" is unlimited. So it depends what you're looking for really.
There's an interesting clip on YouTube about T-Mobile data by Darren from HAK5 while he was visiting the UK.

Ah right - thanks didn't know that. Good tip smile

And thanks for the video but I am hardly going to take advice from someone who does not know which one (Britain,England or the UK) describes our country and then tells everyone how to cheat our networks.

I believe Darren wrote some code which was later used in Stuxnet.
I haven't tried what he suggests yet but I have OpenVPN on my Android and all of the traffic could be sent through port 80, so maybe there's something in it.

I'm using 3 myself but have a T-Mobile & GiffGaff PAYG sims for emergency backup.

Watching the video I thought he knew what they were, but was trying to cover all the bases with other US citizens who don't.

Many US people I've met ask "why do you keep renaming your country?" - sigh....

I just pay for the one plan and then I don't need to do any fancy limiting overriding. three @ home will soon have more places covered for abroad.

Not really what I'm after. Really looking a temp solution, until my home broadband has been sorted.
