Can someone please help me?

[link to this post]

Hello everyone. I hope we're all doing ok with our mobile broadband. In college Im having a dilemma. I have an Alcatel OneTouch Y800z MiFi on EE. In my college campus I get next to 0 bars of 4G, sometimes 1 bar, never the less with 0 Bars I still get 10 down and a 60 Ping. I want to get an external antenna, and I think this is the port but I dont know what the port is called. Here is a picture

If you could identify this type of connector then please do. Also, if you know of any good antenna's then please link them. Thank you! I'm looking for something under £20 and that isnt over 30cm long.

Think that might be a Lucent socket, see various leads at http://www.solwise.co.uk/3g-pigtails.htm

They have a list of modems but yours is not listed http://www.solwise.co.uk/3g-check-your-connector.htm

They don't see to have any of the simple rubber duck type antenna, am guess it was something like this were after, but think that has the wrong plug on it.

That's a good question. I have the Huawei unit from EE and it has a different connector.

These pages might help:

Alcatel themselves:
http://www.alcatelonetouch.com/global-en/products/mo...

UK vendor of 3G/4G antenna with pictures of connectors:
http://wifi-link.com/3g-p-2.php

and a German page with more than you wanted to know, in German though:

James BT Infinity 2 19/09/2012 - Sold 42/6 - Getting 46/8 - Sync 50 / 9 Mbps @ 470m approx
14 years of broadband (ntl: cable to BT FTTC) - Router: Asus RT-N66U - Modem: Huawei HG612 speedtest

Did anyone ever solve what this port is and what antennae can be fitted to it? I've finally dug my one of these out but want to see if I can extend it's capabilities.
