Personally i think they are trying to attract three customers, with threes abolishment of the one plan and all the current new contracts only allowing 4gig tethering, they are trying to show people their network is capable/better and youd be better off with them, As i say thats only my look on it even if not about three people just in general it shows people on o2 voda and three what they are ""missing"" without having to falk a single penny out,
From a business perspective its kind of good marketing, i mean lets face it if three can manage unlimited data on pretty much the same network (MBNL) ee are not going to have a problem with more spectrum available with a few thousand 100gig sims for a few month are they but it could gain them a fair few customers,

TBF ive been with EE on a phone contract and couldn't wait to get away from them so after the 200gig of data over 2 months sim will be binned n it will be a thanks but no thanks lol

The only catch I can see is that EE or D&P will send you marketing texts and D&P's market is the under-14s grin.

I've ordered one and I intend to use it as my primary sim, just to test the network out for when I leave 3 in Jan.

I'm curious as to what will happen at the end of the two months. They say they will contact you to pick a plan for you. Well I use about 10-15gb a month so how will that work laugh ??

You will ahve a choice of signing up for one of their plans or not.

It doesn't mean that they will have a plan that you think is suitable 9in terms of costs/benefits).

It's just a promotional thing, to encourage people to try their network.

Can't transfer a number to this SIM though, so will need another phone if you want to be able to use existing number for recieving calls/texts.

Purely out of curiosity, if you are only going to use around 20% of the 100Gb monthly allowance, I would be interested to see some speed test results, throughout a month, at varying times of the day. Based on the reports and reviews that EE has had on 4G coverage and speed, it would be interesting to see if they can actually deliver 100Gb a month on this promo offer, and more importantly, what (average) speed they deliver it at.

So many times I read of ISPs offering this kind of thing, but then they shape, limit and throttle users rendering the entire claim pointless. Or their network is just over subscribed.

Do let us know how you get on - I'm adding this thread to my watch list in anticipation. wink

Oh right so at the end of the 60 days, the sim goes dead if you don't want to stay with EE??

I've been looking at their 10gb £27.99 plan anyway.

As for EE's speeds, they vary on location massively when I've tested the network in the past.
