Three - Do you even do indoor reception?

[link to this post]

Now i know theres an app for indoor reception but it doesn't work on rooted phones so yeah

unless I'm close to a window i don't get signal or it roams on the EE network

I take this is a common problem ? or maybe just me as i live in a granite building.

EDIT just been on the coverage checker

only outdoor (4G) is available to me with (3G/H+) indoor/outdoor so why not even 2G signal in my bedroom.

Three don't have a license for 2G. If you get no indoor probably worth looking for another network of using the wifi app which was updated last week to work on rooted I believe. Very few android users are rooted.

Have you asked Three for a Home Signal Box? I sometimes got one bar of a signal which would disappear frequently leaving me with no signal indoors. Sometimes I had to sit on the bathroom floor to make a call indoors. I contacted Three who referred me to their Home Signal department who in turn sent me out a Home Signal box free of charge. My signal strength shot up to five bars and has stayed there ever since. That was last year.

Ask for a home signal as suggested. I have one as I live rather rurally and its Vodafone 2g or nothing in my house.

App just got an update for rooted phones as well

It's the major downside of Three. Go into any big metal building and it's generally Vodafone and O2 that still have a signal.

Not always the case. We get vastly better EE 2G and 4G (1800mhz) signal than Vodafone and O2 2G signal (900mhz) or 4G (800mhz) in our metal building.

All networks 3G is 2100mhz (O2 has a tiny amount at 900mhz).

Transmitter location and signal strength outside is key - Vodafone typically has half the masts that EE has.
