EE Mobile Broadband using MIMO aerials

[link to this post]

We have just had our first two installs in this area under the BDUK sub-2Mb Voucher scheme using EE mobile broadband.

1 property (sub 1Mb) is so far estatic at 18.9Mb
T'other (Satellite at £130 a month, latency around 800, varying between 1 and 20Mb occasionally), is also 'estatic' on Day1, paying £75 a month for 20MB, latency 29.

This may well be the answer to BDUK's prayers - for a year or two smile)

Still a steady performance around the 20Mbps mark and both delighted with it. Not sure what effect the EE 'switch-on' of the 800 band will have - in theory the kit will poll up to 8 channels.

EE's 800 has very little data capacity (5mhz compared to 20mhz for the main 1800 signal) but it should travel a long way (and get indoors) where other signals don't make it. Its unclear if data SIM services will be allowed to connect and only phones that support 4G Calling (VoLTE) will be able to use it.
