wireless pci adapter

[link to this post]

I purchased this wireless adapter Netgear WG311T for a dell desktop but have had to take the back plate off to fit the card since the back plate is too long and hence there is a hole where the card is fitted.

I need to install adapters on 5 other desktops but can't see to find cards with shorter backplate that will fit or is there nothing like that.

Help anyone? wireless usb etc not an option.

are we talking half height cards here ? what Dell model.

Yes, there are cards that ship with half height backplates either fitted or loose in the box.

I had/have similar problem with Dell Desktop - tried to fit WN311T but back plate too long. Spent months looking for fix - card with shorter backplate - even during trip to Singapore most of the IT halls there looked at me and said no. I had spare WN121T and use that but USB
