Add wireless n to Netgear DG834G router

[link to this post]

I want to add 802.11n to my router by disabling the g wifi and plugging the n device into an ethernet port.
What would be a good recommended make and model to use ?

Hi, an idea! Connect to your Netgear DG834g router the latest Billion 7700N ADSL2+ wireless N router and use it as a wireless access point, or to make a matching set connect the Netgear WN604 Wireless-N 150 access point, but its only (150Mbps).

I reckon I would go for the Billion 7700N router you might then be tempted to not use the Netgear DG834g router. wink

Thanks for the update E7er.

Yes I suppose replacing the router is a better option as it keeps everything in one box.
But can I use Routerstats with the Billion product as this works well with the Netgear products it was originally designed for.

And developing the Netgear idea I suppose the DGN2200 might be a good bet too.

You can use the DMT tool v8.07 with the Billion 7700N wink

I would say that depends on whether your modem/router location is the best place for your AP.
A separate AP gives you more flexibility in placement assuming you can get some Cat5 to it.
