Which is the best router for gaming?

[link to this post]

Hi, I currently have the Virgin media 152Mb broadband with the Super**** 2. As I'm sure you know it's just....terrible.......features etc..and terrible for gaming... I was wondering which router you would recommend here from my list. I will be using a wired connection and was wondering which router has the best features such as QOS etc. Thanks!

So, which has the best features for gaming on a wired connection? I will be using the super hub 2 in modem mode and connecting the router to it.
Thanks,
Ben

QoS features on the Asus RT-N66U
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/hardware/reviews/76-as...

Has proven a popular device, and while it does not have the AC WiFi of the others at £90-120 the price is a bit lower and your priority seemed to be wired rather than wireless.

The white version at £89.99 or the more traditional black router at £120

If you want maximum oomph and need the AC wireless then RG-AC66U at £130 down from £200 has more WiFi speed and USB 3.0 support.

The Asus are popular because of the different WRT based firmware solutions available.

The archer c7 is a good budget choice, but generally have found the TP-Link web interface to be more old fashioned and less GUI based/friendly than the Asus.

Hi, Thanks for your input. Would you also recommend the Asus RT-AC68U? You didn't mention the Netgear Nighthawk R7000? Thanks,
Ben

If the 68 is to the same standard of build as the 66 models then yes, but not used the later models or the Nighthawk range, so cannot testify to the QoS controls.
