New bandwidth statistics seriously messed up?

[link to this post]

Two examples, from evidence collected on Home Lite package since changeover started at end of June:

1)
The "statistics" often appear to be many hours out of date rather than "correct within 2 hours" as stated.

2)
As well as being shown separately, the "off-peak usage" initially appeared to be included in the "peak usage" (similar to the "off-peak" and the "total monthly" figures in the previous system).

This then seemed to be corrected so that the "off-peak usage" and the "peak usage" added together gave the correct total cumulative usage for the month.

However, things appear to have changed again since a 600 MB download between 04:10 and 04:25 BST this morning has been added to my "peak usage" whilst my "off-peak usage" has changed by less than 1 MB over the last 18 hours.

Is anyone else noticing similar issues?

I've already got 5MB off peak clocked up for July and can't undestand how it got there.

If its off peak does it really matter, assuming you're on a secure router, off peak is free after all. Surely the off peak is not added to total, this would give an entirely false idea of your usage.
Having said that the new stats are nowhere as easy to read as before. The graph shows no timeline to gauge the usage and the daily usage stats were useful and easy to understand.

I wasn't complaining its just that I can't remember staying up late enough or getting up early enough to clock up any off peak. As you say the 24 hour graph was useful for checking things like that.

Has anyone else noticed their stats really messed up for today? My graph is showing I've used over 4 GB today which would be a record for me (by a long way). I was expecting to perhaps nudge a GB today as I downloaded a programme off the iPlayer earlier, but 4GB seems way too high.

FWIW, the NewNet service status page has recently been updated with ...

"July 7th, 2009 by NAM
Engineers are working to resolve an issue affecting the ADSL bandwidth statistics shown in the orderforms portal.

Data in the portal will not update while this work is undertaken. Data continues to be captured and will be updated in the portal as soon as work is complete."

It seems their stats were wrong. After the maintenance mentioned on their status website, the total for the month is now a few GB less than the stats said it was on Monday/Tuesday. I wish they'd get the stats system sorted so it doesn't keep generating these wrong figures.
