Re the new AUP, does anyone know what the differences are from the old one?

How do we read that? All I get is the FileFactory Home page with teh newnet file name, but can't get to read the file.

It shows me free and premium download buttons. Click free and view some advertising spam while you wait 30 seconds for a download link to appear.

I just dumped it on the first 'free file hosting' link google turned up.

If only Newnet provided some free web space....... heh.

No thanks smile.

Not worth getting onto a site like that for one document tongue.

Gees what do you mean a 'site like that'? It is a file hosting site like rapidshare and megaupload, not as big but still gets more than 200,000 unique visitors daily.

Like almost all free web sites (including this forum) it is powered by advertising. The 30 seconds delay is an inducement to pay for a premium service.

Surprisingly I can download files from it without adjusting my default level of advert, script, and everything else I don't like about the internet blocking.

I wasn't meaning it insultingly to the site.

I was meaning I have never heard of it all the time I have been here, so I don't intend to download whatever it wants me to have.

Or is it merely badly worded on the home page and would just have downloaded the article? It read to me as though it wanted to download a piece of client software to allow reading. That was what I objected to.

It's just badly set out. Clicking the link and waiting would have got you the PDF.
These sites are becoming more and more popular - They're the new breed of HTTP warez sites.

Cheers!

No scary changes then. I wonder how many customers they get sending out spam.... I would've thought there'd be a few people with virus infected machines acting as spam-bots.
