NILDRAM have (apparently) U-turned !!! Read this!!

[link to this post]

I received this email today as a further response to a request for a MAC.

"Further to me supplying your mac code, We have taken into account the
comments about traffic management, and as a result of feedback has
invested significantly in network capacity to support this change. This
enables all customers to use high bandwidths for any traffic type at all
times. However individuals who persistently download excessively high
volumes of data using NNTP or P2P will be asked to limit their usage to
reasonable amounts to prevent impacting the quality of service for
others.

So if you wish to stay, we have now stopped the management policy.
Please let me know what you wish to do"

It was from Natalie Palumbo, Retention Agent.

Too late for me and I suspect many others - the cat is out of the bag.

Incidentally - it's not normally possible to invest like this in a period of days - typically it takes weeks if not months of planning - if that's been shortcircuited and done in days then that's just as worrying to me.

I'd ask what they mean by "network capacity". New central on its way? A 155 or a 622? A bit vague ... And I'm not sure how you go about asking someone to limit their usage if they're inside their cap, either.

But anyway, the plot thickens.

What a mess they've turned into. No notice of this from them either. Lovely tin pot ISP it is turning (turned!) into.

I think it may take a very long time for them to get the confidence of the customer back.

I'm gone, so it's too late to get me back. I've lost my faith in Nildram.

Good News if its true

[re: tx2] [link to this post]

Guys,

At least if this is true they still listen to the customer base, for some of my accounts its too late but i have still got 3 more to move.

I think we need an offical statement quickly. I know it doesnt forgive them for the way its been handled but at least there is a light still glowing somewhere in Nildram towers.
