Sky Broadband

[link to this post]
Hello
I have been receiving sky broadband for about 2 years with speeds of 4 Mb. About 7 weeks ago it dropped to 0.5 and i have tried to get SKY to fix it, they sent me a new router etc but nothing has worked. They say the maximum my line can receive has droped from 4 to 0.9. They said theres nothing they can do and its BTs fault. They even suggested I ring BT but I cant believe they will do anything as Im not a customer. Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Paul

http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php for guides for most hardware

On the phoning BT - if you pay Sky for broadband then its down to them to chase their supplier. Does Tesco make you call Heinz if they run out of Ketchup?

Sky are wrong.

It's the ISP who contacts BT, if there's a fault with ADSL .

You're being limited by excessive line noise, probably your end. Likely causes are Sky TV box, Ringwire, or new source of noise like DECT phones.
