Will Cabinet Upgrade Affect My Speed?

[link to this post]

I live in a rural area but am connected to Cabinet 66 within Carlisle, It's around 2.3 miles from my house to the cabinet (and perhaps 5 miles to the Carlisle Exchange). It seems this cabinet will be fibre upgraded shortly, and although I know I won't get fibre, will it have any affect my ADSL speed? My current download speed is around 0.5 Mbs (it recently increased to 0.8 Mbs but then it dropped!).

In short no

If adsl2+ becomes available might see upload improve

I've found on many occasions that upload actually decreases on long line when using ADSL2+
