O2 data caps on the legacy products?

[link to this post]

Hi everyone

I'm on the old legacy package (think it was called home premium?) bundled with home phone that promised unlimited data (with the usual fup of course).

I need to download a lot of data in the coming weeks / months...I dare say it'll be going into the terabyte range (not all at once!), perhaps several GB a day (maybe up to 10-15GB a day) over a sustained period.

Am I likely to be penalised for doing this?

I should add it's *not* p2p, just straight downloads.

Thanks!

That's under 500GB per month, not TeraBytes. Shouldn't be an issue. Even The Works had it's 250GB FUP removed in September.

Thanks for the posts both of you.

You're right RobertoS, I was just guestimating my downloads per day, so far it's been going higher than 15GB a day.

Really good to hear it's truly unlimited downloads! You're right of course, checking their website on the two higher packages it does say they are both truly unlimited which is good to hear, I can stop worrying now.

Thanks! laugh

Ooooh cheers, that's brilliant! laugh

Yeah we're a dying breed now!

I think I read on here somewhere that some people were managing to renegotiate their contracts and get six months free...?

I have FTTC in my area and am torn with whether to move or not...I think that's probably a conversation for another thread though.

I got 6 months free -for signing up for another 12 months.

Infinity2 would give me 70 Meg - but I'm OK with 8 Meg

Hmmmm interesting.

Michael, did you have to ask to stay on the old package or did they move you over the new one?

Stanman, how did you get six months free?

Are either of you obliged to be migrated over to the new packages when your 12 months expires or does it turn into a rolling contract on the old terms?
