[link to this post]

Anyone on the Tooway3.6Mb/s service care to post the actual speeds you get and your overall view of the service.

Does anyone khave a date for the 10Mb/s service going live ?

We love our Tooway system. It is fast and reliable. Try talking to the team at www.ruralbroadband.co.uk. They gave me best advice. Their site does not mention new faster services yet, but I expect they will know.

If you really have no other option then please wait until you can get the new faster service and associated modem/dish that'll be required for this new service.

Would be good to see some one post speeds for satellite. I expect speeds at best will be between 2~3Mbps and will vary just like other contended services.

PING times will be in excess of 700ms so forget about gaming, ssh and remote desktop. Also usage limits will prevent you from doing anything other than basic web browsing and emails!

AVOID SATELLITE IF YOU CAN!

The new 10Mbps service should be coming online Q2 this year.

Being able to do basic web browsing and email would be good - currently struggling to get a long line to connect at 160kb/s

What's your attenuation?

I've seen a lot of reports recommending the 2wire on long lines.
