Anyone on a surfwise package seeing odd latency

[link to this post]

Hi.
I'm on Vivaciti surfwise complete and seeing the following at the moment on the BQM.

Graph

Anyone else on a similar package seeing the same issue or have any idea what is going on?

Were you doing P2P at those times? Or watching catchup TV or similar?

Wireless connection to the router well-secured?

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk
My domains, website and mail hosting - Tsohost. Internet connection - IDNet Home Starter Fibre.

I was on iplayer around 5am for an hour but apart from that just light use.
Wireless is well secured on WPA2.

In the past even when maxing out on P2P the green line has always stayed completely flat around 10ms which is why I think something odd is going on.

vivaciti say they see no capacity issues and it could be my exchange, gonna see what o-bit have to say.

Thanks.
Weird thing about mine is they are almost rectangular i.e. they start and stop immediately with no build up..
Looks like it has settled down although the minimum ping has doubled now.

Yeah, I have seen incremental dips/highs in latency like that, but not that drastic and usually only by 2ms. So far the lowest consistent ping has been 18 and highest 22 for me on Tiscali. Enough to notice, but not sure if it would warrant an investigation by Vivaciti to their supplier.

I am currently trying to sort out the larger spikes though, as it's really playing havoc with my ssh/vpn sessions. Interestingly I can't see any correlation between the larger spikes on my graph and yours - so perhaps it's more of a local issue between my exchange/tisacli.

Well back to normal now with pings back where they were.

Maybe some maintenance going wrong?

I have very rarely seen the type of problem on your chart so as you say may be related to the tiscali side of things rather than the surfwise bit?
