C&W Line Management ?

[link to this post]

How does C&W LLU manage the sync speed versus line quality i.e. what is their version of BT's Dynamic Line Management ?

There is no DLM on C&W circuits in the traditional sense (i.e no automatically shifting SNR or interleaving mode (on/off)).

The only thing that can occur is the interleaving depth can change on sync depending on the line condition at sync.

Thanks Matt.. I thought so but wasn't sure I was remembering correctly.

So I expect there is an inherent stability gain and speed loss compared to a healthy BT Wholesale line set to 6dB.

There can be... some lines can be found on a 6db/Fast profile giving very good results, but they are very far and few between because this isn't officially supported.

However, C&W are completing software upgrades over their national network resolving a few problems and they are re-reviewing their testing of a more Fast profiles, as well as ones with 6db margins to be rolled out nationally, no fixed date as yet though.

do that mean that the 10db SNR i have now will go down to 6db? That would be good, it would give me a bit of extra speed.
