Re: ADSL24 - No Broadband and Disappointing Tech Support

I have picked this issue up and will get back to you ASAP. I think they must have a definite equipment at the exchange because for this to happen again must mean there is a faulty card or something. Just ordering a 21CN upgrade should do nothing to the service until the day it completes.

Leave this with me.

Hi again James,

I appreciate you taking a personal interest in this.

My Dad has just called me to say that someone from your Customer Services team did call back before 1 o'clock to confirm that investigations with BT were progressing.

Hopefully you can find a solution to this problem.

Robert.

Just to update:

My Mum has taken a call from ADSL24 half an hour ago telling her that there is in fact a BT service outage for our area. This seems surprisingly unfortunate timing.

I'm still at my brothers, and can't find any record online for any outages on our area code (01773). Considering this outage would have occurred early this morning (and outages for other area codes have been logged since) this seems strange. Also, my Dad has just checked with a neighbour and their connection is fine.

Can you update me on what is actually happening here, James?

Okay, just had another call from my Dad.

Our connection is back up! From the router log it looks like it returned at about 5.15. Glad it's back up, although at this stage I'm obviously pretty wary about breaking out the champagne.

My Dad rang ADSL24 back to speak to the techie who'd spoken to my Mum, but he'd finished for the day. The techie he did get to speak to also seemed rather non-plussed about this 'BT outage' idea.

Hopefully I might find out more here in the forum.

It was (surprisingly) a BT outage affecting many connections a your exchange, just bad timing!

This outage is due to a MSO - MSO related to BT Core (ATM/SDH/Fibre/IP) received at 03/05/2012 - we have no resolution status at present.

But as you are back online it appears they have resolved this already...

Hi James,

Just got in and read your post. We're really not having much luck at the moment, are we! Anyway, I hope this is all resolved now and we can we make it through to our 21CN line upgrade without any more problems.

Thank you for the update.

Robert.
