Which ISP's allow you to adjust your line profile?

[link to this post]

Obviously I am in the same boat with wanting to leave BE now that Sky are taking over.
I have lost touch as I have never needed to look for an ISP since joining BE several years ago and it appears to be a bit of a mine field.

This is my exchange:

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/NSKGW

I would like to stay on the 02/BE wholesale as I have had no issues whatsoever with them and currently get pretty much 24MB all day every day. No drop out issues with my profile set for speed and gaming mode also.

I'm not too fussed about cost as long as I can get a top service as per BE.

So, Does anyone have a difinitive list of ISP's that allow you to adjust the line profile yourself? My line is mainly used for gaming and downloads.
I have been looking at Aquiss website a good bit but also noticed Vivaciti allow this too (I think) Any others on the BE/02 Wholesale?

Most probably all those who provide the o2 wholesale products, I think the talk talk wholesale products offer some changes too, but not sure about if unlimited data useage or not

I've searched on a few providers websites but never found anything regarding fastpath or gaming profiles. This info was readily available on Aquiss website. Sure I found stuff of Vivaciti website too. I'll have a look at the AAISP website.

Hi,

Does Aquiss have any forum section on here? I wouldn't mind reading some customer reviews.
I noticed on the Aquiss website you sell a gaming package. What options do you get in the gaming mode controls?
What router would you recommend using on your products? I currently have a BE supplied router but have a feeling this will be requested back once I leave.

We don't have a forum here. These are created by the site owners as part of their listings policy (we respect that btw). Try http://www.ispreview.co.uk/review/products/529.html or http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews142204.html

Gaming mode just allows for Interleaving to be switched off (nothing more fancy than that).

All UK routers/modems will work, however, we do not recommend either Belkin and especially TP-Link which appear to be showing some form of memory leak issue (routers need daily restarts to get features back). For ease of use, Netgear really all the way IMHO.

Thanks for the links smile
I'll give them a read later on. Something to do on nightshift later.

I thought i should ask about the gaming profile as when I was a UK Online customer they just adjusted the interleaving depth lower. Thats good to know that it is actually turned off.

I'm sure I have a Netgear router lying around somewhere. I'll have to find it. But so far its looking good for Aquiss. Thanks for answering some questions. I'll have a read of the links you provided and have a think about any other questions I may have.

Q for Aquiss.
Various resellers are quoting that I will get 12mb on a partial LLU thru o2 Wholesale; yet speed test results (inc TBB) are giving me an extra 2mbps. Does this mean that regardless of whether I buy a resold o2 wholesale or C&W partial LLU will get the same?

my dgn220v3 stats show downstream
connected @16365kbps
line attenuation 27.5
noise 6.0

o2 Premium
Peak download 15.24MiB/s
Peak upload 905 KiB/s

that is a very good sync imo

i would drop snr to a lower profile and squeeze it above 17mbps

llu and 21cn products do not tend to show massive differences in sync, however the only other variable is your router and dslam chipset
