[link to this post]

One of my contacts from Liverpool reports a slowdown and increased pings on the Daisy network tonight, I am not seeing this. Anyone else seeing this.

Very odd. IIRC in the financial pages only a few days ago it was reported Daisy had raised £100m for expansion and takeovers.

Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 58.7/14.6Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

Bob I think the slowdown is in certain parts of the country because I am nor have never seen a slowdown in 4 years and I see Daisy opening offices all over the country. Im wondering if this is TT tails exchange slow downs being seen not Daisy network.

Dunno. But here's what I read in The Times, 18 June.
As a reseller of telecoms and other services to small and medium-sized businesses, Daisy’s strategy is clear enough. Organic growth, signing up new customers or persuading them to take more services, is perforce slow. So instead it buys smaller, often struggling, rivals for their customer base and enhances its margins by stripping out costs.

There are, the company reckons, about 300 more of these out there, despite consolidation in that market. Daisy has therefore persuaded its lenders to allow it to raise debt to provide £100 million or more for such acquisitions.

The company is hedging its bets, though, by promising that if the deals do not come through, cash will be returned to investors by means of share buy-backs. Though earnings for the year to the end of March were barely changed, up from £56.3 million to £57.9 million, the total dividend is up by 15 per cent to 4.6p. The shares, off 7½p at 155½p, have been a weak market since the spring and sell on about 11 times earnings. That acquisition policy is an imponderable, but the shares at least have the support of those potential buy-backs if nothing works out. Hold, then, as a two-way bet.

Thanks for that, I did email Daisy earlier tonight to see if they would provide me a connection, so far no response, despite having a 24/7 call centre. Might be better if Daisy grow connections than acquiring them. Also looking at Xilo's TTB LLU offering. TTB dont have a package without rental.

i had an outage a few weeks ago then my speed halved, was going to move from Viva BUT they mailed me and informed me they are getting a new supplier which in my case will
be going live on the 2nd so can`t wait.
my bro used to work for daisy and they used to do nothing except rape companies then sell them off in bits so i hope they are under new management.
