Re: Timico /29 routing problems

1) Apologies, that's from my own shorthand to distinguish the Belkin from the Asus (before the Asus I had a Belkin wifi router separate to the Belkin modem-router, so you can see where confusion came in if I referred to having two Belkin routers on the network).

2) Yes, the Qube server downstairs.

3) No, the belkin isn't in bridge modem. I had the web interface of the Asus enabled for admin from its WAN port (ie accessing it from the /29 via the iMac as well as accessing it from the NAT LAN ports of the the Asus via the iMac).

I see the ISP is offering support, so that will help you sort it out hopefully.

Yes, it looks like a solution has been found, but it'll have to wait until I can action it.

I should also give thanks to you and sills for the help you've offered. You've both been most useful.

No problem. I'll be interesting in learning the solution when it's finally how you want it wink

*Fixed*. Timico allocated me a separate IP address for the WAN IP they dish out on authentication that's not in the /29 they allocated me. This is as per Zen, ADSL24, and Coms. Routing now works. Many thanks to everyone's work at Timico to fix this.

Does anyone else here have problems routing with their Timico /29 block?

I can't speak for Timico specifically, but I have seen countless routers unable to be routers with properly allocated subnets - especially where you get a single /29 allocation (or similar) - but generally (not always) copes with a setup like Xilo or presumably Coms use where you get a single WAN IP and a routed subnet as well.

It could be your router is inadequate spec and capability wise for this.

Zen give you a single /29 if you ask for one - they don't allocate a separate WAN address.
