Pulse8 - Speeds dropped down to 18 down 18 up (FTTC 80/20)

[link to this post]

Good Morning,

I am looking for some advice and I came across this site after using DSL stats on my netgear D7000.

The crux of the issue is that my speeds have dropped significantly since I started with Pulse8 and it looks to me like DLM has put a cap on the line of 18 down and 18 up (I have run multiple speed tests over wired and wireless and it hits 18 and then abruptly stops almost as if there is an artificial limit applied)

Been with Pulse8 for 2 weeks and the speeds where static 60 down 18 up and around 3 days ago I brought a much higher quality RJ11 cable from Tandy which has improved the sync so my line has only realistically been up for 3 days or so.

Was with VM for a while but left them due to nasty peak utilisation issues and prior to that I was with BT infinity which synced at a permanent 76 down 18 up.

Here are my stats.

Best bet is giving them all call. They should be able to tell you what if any limits have been placed on your line by the DLM or whatever

Done that already mate and the profile is correct according to them.

Could it be a very bad case of congestion?

Your downstream sync is 62,666kbps, so not DLM and capping. You have heavy downstream interleaving which typically costs 10-12Mbps sync.

It looks as though some error source has been introduced since your Infinity days. Plus perhaps additional connections to the cabinet have caused crosstalk. But where an 18Mbps throughput cap is coming from I have no idea - that's not something we see as a rule.

How long is it since you rebooted the router? Was that three days ago as well?

When did this speed drop start, and was it sudden for the whole drop, or over a period? Is it the same 24/7 or just at certain times of day?

The indispensable man or woman passes from the scene, and what happens next is more or less the same thing as was happening before.
My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk. Domains, site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - AAISP Home::1 80/20. Sync 59997/15142kbps @ 600m. - BQM

The speed drop has happened since sometime in the early hours this morning and it's been 3 days 16 hours since I rebooted the router (firmware update and changed a RJ11 cable)

The speed drop was all of a sudden and it was absolutely fine last night up till around 11pm at night when I did the last speedtest and I am connected to my PC from work and it's hitting 18mbit down and then stops on all speed test sites and across multiple servers.

Would crosstalk cause a major drop like this though from circa 60mbit down to 18mbit down and no more no less.

Do you have a temporary BQM we can look at? Sam and Adam are pretty helpful as I had a few issues when I first joined which they resolved.

Are there any modem stats besides the profile e.g. FEC and HEC errors etc.

plusnet Fibre > Sky Fibre Pro > Pulse8 Fibre XL - 14ms Ping, Sync ~ 65.78/18.73Mbps - BQM

Like this?

I don't have a BQM graph at the minute as I want to see if DLM gets rid of the high interleaving (if I change ICMP echo on the WAN port it causes the router to reboot)

Would crosstalk then cause a massive drop such as this then?
