Using download speeds for a complaint, but checkers report ok

[link to this post]

I have run several tests on my new connection, this is about as bad as it gets on my up to 76mb connection!!

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest/button/14671...

Thing is, my BQM shows relatively clean, except for some packet loss:

Luckily for me, the BTW speed tester is showing below my range and is giving me red lines in my graph.

I am just wondering how to get companies to accept a congestion/ speed complaints utilising the single thread test from TBB as I keep reading they will only accept the BT Wholesale checker. I have emailed with all my TBB speed tests from them to date, plus my BQM, no point sending my Samknows info as it shows speeds are fine.

Thanks

Mark

So what's the problem? Copy/pasting the two text boxes of the result would be informative for us, but the BTW test is the one that is officially accepted by BT Wholesale for fault reports.

Did it give you the option to progress to TAP2 or TAP3 tests?

Problem is unusable internet in the evenings. Forums time out, wife was timed out shopping last night and general browsing all affected, I believe down to congestion as at 6am this morning all was fine.

The two boxes (if I have the right ones):

Download speedachieved during the test was - 25.09 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 26.78 Mbps-38.26 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 38.26 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 2.81Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

Tap 2/ 3? There is a button to do further tests, but I thought it was do run the same test again.

No. I know my username, but can't get the login password as it came pre- configured. Will have to ask for it.

It isn't the broadband password you need.

The username IIRC will be admin. Have you looked?

Daisy Wholesale provide services over both BT Wholesale and TalkTalk Business Wholesale. The don't have their own MSANs in exchanges.

It just depends what package you have from your ISP that determines whether it is BTW or TTB based.

These days AIUI the BT Wholesale Performance Test (that's what they call the speed tester) runs the initial speed test then if you go to Further diagnostics at the bottom it will only continue on BT Wholesale circuits.

All that page does is call up the IP Profile and present the pretty graphics. Non-BT Wholesale circuits do not have IP Profiles so it can't.

To go to Tap3, I am being asked to change my internet connection details in the router to BT testing. After the test, I have to re input my SSE details to allow my connection again. It is this password I do not have and therefore cannot progress until it is supplied to me.

(Plus, i'm not being given the option now to progress to further tests)

BT tester 31.03

TBB tester:

34.98x6 8.69x1

Warning: The test shows a variable streaming result. This may be down to congestion or other issues.

As expected, the ISP is stating that there is nothinf wrong, based on the BT speedtest frown
