Origin ADSL Phone and Internet 12 months £9.99 per month

[link to this post]

http://www.moneysupermarket.com/broadband/ - scroll down for the deal.

Seems to be a bargain, anyone with Origin? Happy?

They quoted me £48 to install a second line which is one of the cheapest out there. Tele sales seemed a bit keen to get me to order (might do it in the morning)

Deal expires 23rd March

ISP: Zen, getting around 6mb down - .8mb up
Exchange is Fibre enabled, Cab not economically viable to upgrade - though hanging on the carrot being dangled - 'There are projects to be initiated in 2017, however, we do not have a particular timescale at this moment.'
Stechford (CMSTE) Cab 50 - small cabinet of fail

£48 is high for a new line.

Sky is £19 although when you call they often take a tenner off.
Talktalk is free
BT is anywhere from free to £59 typically. I got it free here just by calling.

Also with those isps generally you won't see slowdowns on your connection.

I have a second line with them. Seems OK. They must just be wholesaling plusnet as I get a plusnet gateway.

Sky quoted me £100 for a new line installation last time I called them, so £48 seemed reasonable. Anyway thanks for the info, gives me a few more options.

seem to get a static ip and a plusnet gateway. Performance seems to be crippled through, significantly worse than when on plusnet directly.

line syncs at 1.8-1.9, IP profile around 1.5-1.6, speedtests (bt wholesale) ~0.9

seems rather low to me -and my Dad keeps complaining at me about it!

Sky Fibre (40/10), Draytek 130, DrayTek 2925, DrayTek AP-700
(Gone but not forgotten: 2820n x 2, 2800vg, 2800, HG612)

Speedtests:
