Tiscali -> TalkTalk tariff changes in Jan 2010

It seems that Tiscali accounts will be transferred to TalkTalk tariffs early next year with many expected to see large increases in charges.

I'd recommend that anyone concerned should read this informative Guardian Money article illustrating some of the rip-offs for the unaware.

Meanwhile if you want to switch supplier, there are plenty of good deals out there at the moment. Sky is going to offer six months free to those signing up to its unlimited package. If you already pay for Sky TV, this is a no-brainer. The offer starts of 26 December.

The highly praised Be is offering half-price broadband for a year – at £6.75 a month (only a 12-month contract) with unlimited use. Plusnet is also offering broadband for £5.99 for the first three months, then £11.99.

It should also be mentioned that the Plusnet Value deal continues at £5.99/month if one is on a Market 3 exchange.

But Pipex customers were Tiscali customers so deal is available - if you've spoken to someone at Plusnet they obviously didn't know that fact.

dude ive spoken to plus net 3 times and trired to get the deal each time i was told the offer is only for tiscali customers i pointed out that pipex is also tiscali

but each time told the offer is only for tiscali customers
in the end i signed anyway but feel a little miffed that the offer was only for tiscali customers

What I'd do is to pm one of the Plusnet comms team that post in their forum and tell them the situation and the user name that you've registered.

I'll also raise this matter as someone at Plusnet has, imho, screwed up.
