Bugz and some of his merry friends are not or have been plusnet customers. PR100 plays the same record for over a year now and now released a new album where he is making libellous accusations in his attempt to discredit anything PN . The UK apparently is a free country, can i break in to your house and take your TV . Anyway who said its a free forum ? i thought it was owned and the owners make the rules up.

A lot of people jump on the "X and his friends" bandwagon be it pro- or anti- and assumes that posters have no self awareness or their own thoughts about anything.. I think this is disrespectful and it applies just as much to each side of it.

We've said for a long time that this is not a "customers only" forum and as such we welcome participation from ex-customers and those who have never been customers.. To restrict it only to current users would be bad as it would be a self-indulging community that thought the ISP was great as anyone who disagreed could just be expelled by the ISP terminating their contract. I think some people have taken this latitude we give too far and I am honestly quite fed up for the "I hope they go bust" attitude, especially when the said persons proclaim to be trying to help PN users in this case. Believing that shareholders should not benefit from the actions of a company with whom you have issues is one thing.. I guess some may argue if users are 'dumb enough' to choose a provider you consider to be bad in whichever way then they deserve what they get.. but actively hoping that an ISP goes bust seems to me to be nothing short of childish tendencies of hoping something bad happens to someone you don't like, even if it has consequences on others.

Some of PN's critics have valid points to raise, whether others agree with them or not, but they provide something constructive to inform users. The kinds of comments about hoping PN goes bust do not help anyone in any way whatsoever.. They serve no useful purpose and are designed for no other purpose than to incite a response and a fight. To that end, please feel free to consider this a general warning to everyone.

This may be just sloppy posting, but sounds in that verb tense that the rules are in process by the management and are still being made up. there are rules here and those make this board pretty free, you can read them before you post and know what to expect.

For what its worth, I think the mods do a good job and the boards offer a significant contribution to broadband in the UK. If ISP's are not silly (and Pn spun so much here it was unbelievable) then they serve both customers and ISP's and serve them well.

Knowledgeable folk will help each other and issues will get aired so that new customers can look before they leap.

I got the impresion that PR100 stated one PUG member has had there connection upgraded for free by Plusnet and he has evidence to support this. If he has evidence it is not libellous as the best libel defence is the truth, he went on to reason that if one member had received preferential treatment maybe others had too, I fail to see the libel.

He needs to provide that proof (even in private if necessary).. in this country it is the person making the allegation to prove their case. Not the person against whom they are making the statement. His allegations have been denied and he says its another person has told him .. hearsay. .. so really doesnt have proof.

Yes I realise the burden of proof is reversed in a libel case, but you are wrong, he does not need to prove it unless in defence of a libel claim being levelled against him, only at that point does he need to prove anything.

Hmm you've seen it have you? that should she be of interest to the person mentioned in the post to which you are refering.

Tell me... would you ..as a private individual .. put up with the statements he has made agaist you when you know they are completely wrong??? He has quoted heresay and he has said he was told this by someone else. He has NO evidence.

I hope that action is taken or he offers a public apology to that individual.

No, I would not put up with libellous statements against me, but also you do not know what evidence he has or has not got because he hasn't disclosed it!
