Broadband Useage monitoring

[link to this post]

I left Plusnet in December after many many years, and joined TalkTalk, purely because my rural exchange was LLU'd and I couldn't resist 3 times the speed for less money.
For those of you shaking your heads and thinking "he'll regret that", I have to say everything went exceptionally smoothly and I didn't even have the hassle of asking for my MAC code. I now really do have 3 times the download speed ( about 18 MBs according to TB speed test) and so-far no problems.
My TalkTalk product is 'unlimited', and being a very heavy user I was free of the restrictions of usage allowance, so because of the novelty, I've left things like Bit Torrents running all time.
Now here's an oddity, because looking at the TalkTalk usage monitor for my first month, my usage seems to be qute a bit less than when I was with Plusnet - and that's with not scheduling downloads for the off-peak periods!
Anyone have any comments??

Do Plusnet count uploads, and TalkTalk don't?

Anyone have any comments??

Maybe the two ISPs measure usage differently one more advantageous to the end user than the other (TT being LLU and unlimited) tongue

After all electricity meters can and do go wrong albeit not very often tongue

I thought metres were an internationally accepted standard based on something in Paris? Though I have an inkling something changed within the last five years.

I know about volts, am(pere)s and ohms as electrical measurements, but metres?

My excuse is I'm trying to be humourous, in vino veritas.

He stated that he used the off peak periods.

Surely that's far better than joe public that's trying to use iPlayer HD during peak hours, no?

Cheers,
