Just a thought, have you tried a simpler (shorter) password in the router and see if the phone likes that instead?

Have you definitely tried setting the channel to Auto? I remember a problem my parents had with their phones and it turned out it was on Channel 1 and their phones didn't like Channel 1.

Setting router to Auto sorted it out.

WPA2 AES often sorts these problems for some reason.

Al, TVM. Your learned status should be increased to Genius!! Knocked the password down to the minimum 8 digits and the new password accepted instantly!

What a palaver! I hope PN read this as I am sure I cannot be the only one.

Thanks again to others too. Its nice to know the answer to a problem as opposed to taking an easy way out.
