My Line Stats and more.

[link to this post]

Thought I would post my line stats here and for future so other can give advice and let me know if I am getting what I shoud.

I reconnected my HG610 modem today for the stats. I still disconnected after about one and a half hours again. I called PN for the DNS and had to set up an IP in windows. Think that has sorted it, as cross fingers, it has stayed connected for 7 or so hours.

This modem does not seem to work on acquire ip automatically.

My stats for about an hour ago. From XP

Given your SNR margin is bang on target, I would say you're getting the max sync rate.

Thanks but it's not really matching my speed tests is it?

BTW can this modem drop PPP session? I don't really want to switch it off yet, just to change IP address.

May post my stats again later, if it's still connected.

Are you meaning the HG610 VDSL router? Modems don't handle PPP.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,website and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 54.0/14.9Mbps @ 600m. - BQM

49390 *0.96 to remove overheads is 47414 Mbps

So what speed are you wanting to see?

Particularly given that even I do speed tests on a direct 100 Mbps link I don't actually get the 100 Mbps due to other overheads in the Operating System and hardware.

47414 kbps = 47.414 Mbps actually... The k and M are used in their correct 10^3 and 10^6 meanings for linespeed

If you say so, I just googled "convert 47414 kbps to mbps".

He was referring to TBB's non-standard use of K = 1024 in comms speeds.
